10 Tips for Being Money-Smart

I am not a financial expert and I have zero training in this area, but I did have parents who talked openly about money, taught me and my brother how to be entrepreneurs, and gave us books on financial literacy when we were barely old enough to read.  I’ll put it this way – my brother bought himself a boat when he was 12 years old because of the money he made from his PAPER ROUTE.  We were kids who, for better or worse, knew how to save.

Whole Lotta Lunch 1: Tahini Kale Slaw and Roasted Tamari Portobello Bowl

This week I made the Tahini Kale Slaw and Roasted Tamari Portobello Bowl from The Sprouted Kitchen Bowl and Spoon Cookbook. TIP: I followed the recipe for the dressing and dumped the entire bowl onto the greens/carrots. I found it to be too much dressing!  Start with a little and add more to your taste. Also, this recipe easily makes enough for 4 lunches – especially if you are generous with the kale.

Using OneNote to Get Organized At Work

I am a kindergarten teacher and the kids in my class love to play the “raise your hand if” game. At lunchtime, I often hear them asking each other questions. “Raise your hand if you like purple,” “Raise your hand if you like aliens,” “Raise your hand if you like playing this game.”

You get the point. So here’s a question for you. Raise your hand if you think organization is fun No? No one? Just me? Since this may not be your favorite thing, let’s make it more fun by playing the game.
